2008 Projects
May 24, 2009
Hello Adam,
It's been a very long time, but I wanted to take a moment and write you about the impact the $10 Club's donation
has had on Caring for Cambodia this past year. We used your donation to purchase DVD players, screens and projectors
so that we could take interactive health and hygiene videos into our schools and villages in Siem Reap. The program
has been amazing.
We've used the videos at community meetings with nearly 200 people. We've shown them to nearly 1,000 students in
grades K-6. We have more scheduled for the summer in these grades as well as our high school. In total we hope to
present information to nearly 5,000 students! And, we just opened a preschool and the teacher there has been trained
on the equipment and has shown the preschool mums a video on hand washing and another on teeth brushing. The ripple
effect from a few projectors has been incredible.
Attached is a newsletter from our Teacher Training director
who is now located full-time in Siem Reap. One of the news briefs highlights the preschool using the DVD player --
there's a photo too.
Thank you again for your donation.
Best regards,
Paige Okun
